About Us

Who We Are

Diverse Records is a “vinyl only” independent record label from South Wales, UK. Our sister company Diverse Vinyl is the UK’s largest retailer of new LPs and has customers worldwide.

We specialise in producing high quality audiophile vinyl releases. Our concept is not to specialize in a particular style or category, but to offer the vinyl buying public albums we consider to be outstanding examples in their genre. The bottom line is good music presented on the only format for the discerning music listener – vinyl! Our high quality standards have allied our products, not just with fans of great music, but also with hi fidelity enthusiasts. We’ve won many accolades in international Hi Fi press, including “Hi Fi Plus” awards for our overall package presentation.

What We Offer

We offer artists and labels a chance to develop the profile of their music in markets they might not currently reach, without the hassle, risk and expense of having to product manage their own vinyl releases. We do all the work and take all the risk!

With the full consent of the copyright holder and MCPS, we obtain a license to manufacture an LP format for existing albums currently without a vinyl release. We then realise the sales potential through our retail arm (Diverse Vinyl) and through our wholesale network in key vinyl markets worldwide.

You’ll be paid an advance on future royalties as soon as licensing specifics are agreed, with regular follow up royalty payments as necessary. We’ll then undertake the cutting, plating and pressing of the LP using our world renowned team.

The Product

Our mastering engineer Ray Staff has a long history of vinyl mastering against his name, having cut such classic LPs as David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust” and “Aladdin Sane”, Led Zeppelin’s “Physical Graffiti” & “Presence”, Supertramp’s “Crime Of The Century”, The Rolling Stones “It’s Only Rock N Roll” and more recently, the Number 1 debut album by Corinne Bailey Rae!

We use only audiophile quality 180g heavyweight vinyl, presented in a heavy gauge card outer sleeve gatefold and inserts where appropriate.

The minimum quantity pressed will be 500 units, with repressings when appropriate until the market is satisfied. Test pressings and artwork will be submitted for approval at every possible stage in their development. We pride ourselves on building a close working relationship with our artists. As a result we gain repeat business with satisfied customers, having now pressed more than one LP for such as Alison Krauss, Richard Thompson, Dolly Varden and Eleanor McEvoy.

What We Need From You

Once terms and conditions have been agreed, we’ll need access to the original masters that comprise the album (sound files, tapes or otherwise), and also original artwork files, which we’ll use to recreate artwork in a suitable fashion for the larger format LP sleeve.
Leave everything else to us, it’s that simple!
