Originally released on CD in 1999 by Rounder Records, Alison Krauss gets introspective and personal on her seventh album, one of her solo outings that places Union Station in a backing role while conventional country steps up to the spotlight. With songs written by artists as diverse as Todd Rungren and Michael McDonald, “Forget about it” sounds more like an adult pop album, with occasional notes of country grace, than the Bluegrass influenced “New Favorite”. Produced by Alison and recorded by Gary Paczosa,”Forget about it” has been mastered by Ray Staff and is available in a gatefold sleeve with colour inner sleeve and pressed on 180 gms vinyl. “… It’s lovely in a rueful, melancholy way, hanging together as a meditation on an aftermath that calls to mind Neil Young’s masterly Comes a Time…” — Parke Puterbaugh, Rolling Stone
